Event: 3 Ways to Choose a Niche
I can’t stand the word niche. It’s cheesy, tacky, sales-y and insincere.
But some of my favorite conversations are learning about what you do and the impact you have on your clients. Learning about your unique skillset and how you add value to others’ lives in a way that only you can. (And I really believe that by the way, that we each have things to offer that only we, in our strange, weird mix of experiences and characteristics, could).
You know what’s a better word than niche?
Métier.
A french word which means one’s skill, talent or calling, an area in which one excels. I mean, it’s perfect. Although, I suppose niche is a french word too, and I did some digging and found out it comes from the french word nicher, to make a nest. I mean, that’s perfect too.
So whatever way we say it, on Thursday October 28th from 6-7pm we’ll be talking about three ways to put language to your métier.
I’ll be your presenter this month. As always, this workshop is free, and we’re actively looking for an organization or cause, particularly a mutual aid one, to raise funds for. Do you have an idea? Comment below.
