Community Fundraising Workshops
Our Community Fundraising Workshops started in December 2020, in the midst of COVID, a racial injustice movement upsurge, and a cold winter of significant economic disparity.
Knowing stimulus checks were in the mail and wanting to put them to good use, Ariana reached out to colleague and friend Andrea Redeau to brainstorm. Together we decided to host a workshop to educate therapists on getting into private practice, and also to raise funds for our neighbors without housing. Lloyd Collective used stimulus check funds to match participants’ donations, resulting in a donated $400 at our first event. Since then, total funds raised are over $9500.
Lloyd Collective continues these monthly gatherings, inviting liberation-focused leaders to speak, and identifying oppression-relieving agencies for donations. Through this, we are building a community committed to consciousness-raising and redistribution of wealth/mutual aid. Lloyd Collective continues to match donations, see why here.
