Video: Avoid Generic Therapy Websites
“Don’t worry about being different or going against the norm; that’s the point.”
On November 29, 2021 Monica Kovach of Hold Space Creative joined us for our monthly fundraising workshop to discuss how to avoid writing a generic therapy website.
One of the main themes was the importance of authenticity, and that our websites should sound like us. That’s how potential clients can tell you apart from other therapists. That’s how they determine who will actually help them. Use the vernacular unique to you. Fan of using the word amazeballs? As in, “therapy is so amazeballs, you won’t even believe it”? I can’t say I fully understand, but I do support you being you, so be sure to throw that up on your website.
One of the things I found most helpful in the workshop was the simple, straight-forward home page template Monica shared. Be sure to check it out! The second half of the workshop was spent with us exploring some of the concepts in practical application, and you’ll see some of the participants brainstorm on their current practices.
Oh, and you better believe we raised $410 for the Trevor Project. We also contributed on a social media platform that promises to match our donation 1:1, and will confirm in January. Fingers crossed.
Check out the video, and let me know if you have any follow-up questions. By the way, when you do the 8-week Create Opportunity program, we build our own websites OR you have the option of purchasing one of Monica’s beautiful websites, at a reduced cost. Come start your practice!
