Event: 3 Ways White Supremacy Shows Up in Dating
I’m so looking forward to this month’s community fundraising workshop being held on Tuesday June 29th, 5-6pm PST.
This month Amalia Miralrio is joining the Lloyd Collective community fundraising workshops to teach us about 3 ways white supremacy shows up in dating. Amalia is known as “the break-up therapist”, and specializes in helping women of color make sense of their painful dating experiences and heal old relationship wounds.
I found Amalia Miralrio, a bi-cultural Mexican American therapist, when researching anti-racist therapists. She wrote this great article on Inclusive Therapists about the role therapy plays in anti-racism work. Then I found her Instagram which is a total goldmine; so authentic, direct, empowering and compassionate.
I’ll be joining in Amalia and teaching about how to use social media to grow your clinical audience (which, by the way, Amalia is a superstar at).
As always, we’ll be pausing in the middle of the workshop to donate to Healing by Choice, which is an organization based on healing justice principles. Those principles include focusing on “how we can holistically respond to and intervene on generational trauma and violence, and bring collective practices that can impact and transform the consequences of oppression on our bodies, hearts and minds.”
In six months, we’ve donated over $4k to anti-racism communities through this mutual aid form of wealth re-distribution (double wow).
