Pros and Cons of Private Practice

Private Practice is Not for Everyone.

Here's what you'd be getting yourself into:

Cons:
You are the secretary, biller, accountant, marketing team, etc. You are everything, for better or worse. (Until you make enough money to hire out services.)
You work on your own, so isolation is a potential.
There is calculated risk involved; everything you earn is up to you.
It requires some significant executive functioning, which in the beginning is a bit exhausting.
Imposter syndrome comes up for everyone. Everyone. It's a vulnerable process.

Pros:
You work on your own! A win for all the introverts.
What you earn is up to you, there is no limit.
You set your schedule.
You provide therapy services in the way that feels most ethical to you, not your organization (this one is huge).
Creativity kicks in! You get really good at problem solving.
Once you open a business, you can expand it to be anything you like, including a vehicle for social justice and systemic change.
I've found it to be a healing process, both for me and those I serve.

So, a quick and dirty list. What do you think? Is it for you?

I'd love to have you join our 8-week private practice cohort. If you are interested, feel free to submit a form for enrollment, or simply comment below, and we can set up a time to chat.
